Our Work Survey

Bird Surveys

FSA partners organize and participate in a wide variety of shorebird and seabird surveys throughout the year in Florida. Most surveys are simple, providing us with a quick look or "snapshot" of how birds are distributed during a certain period of the year (e.g. breeding season vs. non-breeding season). Whereas others are more involved such as long-term studies looking at trends in distribution and abundance over time. Regardless of their extent or complexity, surveys provide us with much-needed information about species occurrence (i.e. when and where) for shorebirds and seabirds.

- For more information on breeding bird surveys, go to www.FLShorebirdDatabase.org.

- If you see a banded bird, please go to our "Banded Birds" page to report the sighting.

- If you find a dead bird, you can report it to the FWC Bird Mortality Reporting page.
