FSA Partners posting sites on Dog Island in the Panhandle

Get Involved

The easiest way to get started in FSA is by joining a regional partnership near you, to see a regional partnership map and find contact information, go here. Many of the regional partnerships have set up Google Group pages to share info and coordinate activities- ask them to invite you. To learn more about FSA activities, go here.

In addition, specific opportunities to get involved will be posted below, please check back periodically. If you would like to post an opportunity, please contact Chris Burney (chris.burney@myfwc.com).

Bird Stewards Needed- various sites throughout Florida
In response to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, various partners are ramping up efforts to protect important shorebird and seabird nesting sites throughout Florida to ensure that some areas in the Gulf of Mexico have a productive season. Several new stewards programs (What is a bird steward?, learn more here) have been established, and need volunteers.

Learn where you can help and who to contact to get involved, go here.
